I sometimes find myself lost and confused--and inexplicably unable to communicate effectively; almost as if everything I said was a garbled mess of incoherent mutterings.
It's rather frustrating.
Clear communication is essential to interact with and help people. And for as much effort we put into making sonlight.com helpful and easy to use... sometimes we fail to do so.
It's rather frustrating ...both for us and you.
So if you've spent any time poking around Sonlight's site the past year, I would love any feedback you have as to what you loved and what confused you like a garbled mess of incoherent mutterings. If you got lost or frustrated at any time, I want to know what you think would make that page less confusing.
The new web design goes live April 1--in conjunction with the release of our new catalog--so you have until then to get me as many ideas as you can. (And, really, if you ever have any ideas on how we can make Sonlight better, we want to know!)
Please, make a comment here or send me an email (link on the right there) and give me:
- The URL of the page that tripped you up
(e.g. /RM32.html) - What gave you trouble
(e.g. "I couldn't use the green nav bar to get anywhere!") - And if possible: How you would like to see it fixed
(e.g. "Let me click on the grade bar to go to another grade.")
I think the new site design is going to rock--and I can't wait to show you some of the stuff I'm doing--but with your help, I can make it even better!

The search feature IS wonderful. I use it a lot when making my weekly what we did in school this week posts lol
Danielle, I have never moved around as much as you do, nor have I learned more than one language. So the fact that you function at all amazes me because I've never done what you do on a daily basis <smile>.
Angela, great feedback! Finding individual titles can be tricky... but the search feature is pretty good, and probably the easiest way to find the book. I am working on making it easier to get to the product information.
And, yes, the readers are currently buried in the menus. They will be much easier to find come April 1 <smile>.
Please be sure to let me know of anything else that makes it harder to use our site both now and after April 1 <smile>.

I do find the web site hard to navigate - my sister just commented the same today. Our problems are usually related to looking for details on individual items, or ordering information for said items. I garage sale or thrift a lot of my read alouds, so I tend to buy individual products rather than full CORE's, and have a hard time sometimes finding the most efficient links to get to the items I want.
My sister commented that she couldn't find the list of readers for CORE's 2 & 3.
Haha... I spend my life lost and confused. But it has nothing to do with your website. [= ... probably has more to do with trying constantly to figure out what country I'm in and what language to use.
Have fun making the new site... can't wait to see it!
